Liverpool Christmas Market closed due to adverse weather

The Liverpool Christmas Markets at St George's Hall have closed today, due to the adverse weather conditions caused by Storm Darragh. A yellow weather warning has been issued in Merseyside while the region has also been hit with an amber warning for wind. The weather warning was upgraded from yellow to amber from 1am today until 9pm tonight as the storm moves from west to east . Gusts of 60mph to 70mph are predicted for Merseyside, with the strongest winds predicted for the afternoon.

'Our number one priority is safety and we want to ensure that people have a fun and safe visit. Merry Christmas and stay safe out there!' The first Twilight Market at Exchange Flags has also been cancelled due to the weather . The market was intended to open last night and every Friday afterward until December December 20 between 4pm and 8pm.
