A former bank business analyst in Singapore, Hee Lic Yuan, exploited 31 victims through online scams. From 2019 to 2021, he lured women and girls into sending him explicit photos and videos by promising payment, but then reneged on his promises. Hee, now 32, obtained sexual services from some victims, including minors. He faces 59 charges, pleading guilty to 15 on Tuesday (Jan 7).

The charges include sexual penetration of minors, communicating for the purpose of obtaining sexual services, producing child abuse material, exploitative sexual communication with minors, threatening to distribute intimate images of victims, and obtaining services fraudulently. The court heard details of these offences, which involved 11 different victims aged between 13 and 20 years old. Hee used multiple social media accounts to communicate with victims, posing as a wealthy man seeking a sugar baby. He would quote prices for explicit content, even though he had no intention of paying. Hee kept track of his debts to victims using a tally in his Telegram conversations, promising to pay them on a specific day each month
