Mexico unveils $25 billion stimulus package for flagging economy

MEXICO CITY - A $25 billion stimulus package unveiled by Mexico on Monday should have an immediate impact, Finance Minister Arturo Herrera said, as Latin America’s second-largest economy teeters on the brink of a recession.

The package comes just days before Mexico’s national statistics agency publishes second-quarter growth figures and amid an discussion over whether the economy has slipped into recession. “We have decided on actions that would mobilize 485 billion pesos that would allow us to boost the creation of infrastructure projects, incentivize infrastructure investment and private consumption,” Herrera said.

The Mexican Finance Ministry said in a statement that the package would include public-private infrastructure projects including roads and urban development, while a development bank would provide loans for small- and medium-sized businesses.

Mexico paying for the wall.

Paying for the Wall?

I thought Mexico would pay for the wall

25 Billion I was hoping that Trump attacked them enough he wore them down & they are gonna pay for the GOP Great Wall O Waste.

If Mexico would clean up its crime they would have billions from businesses investments. Without stopping the crime noamount of money will stimulate their economy

He has the wrong finger pointing upward if it is intended for Trump.

Wait, why would they invest in themselves and NOT pay for the wall? I’m so confused.

‘We Are Swamped’: How a Global Trash Glut Hurt a $25 Billion IndustryIndia’s garbage business, from scrap pickers on the ground through layers of sorting middlemen to plastic pellet producers, is struggling with low prices after China restricted garbage imports. I'm amazed at the fact that the industries want ME to make a difference when I have nothing to do with the production of this crap. I have no choice in how the goods I need everyday are packaged. Put this attention on the culprits that make these packages that NEVER degrade! Can not agree with your opinion. It is so simple to understand that less buyer in the market means better bargaining power for India in the garbage import market. They should thank China for doing so. Liberals claim life is awful under Trump. They aren’t doing this though. Count your blessings. You live in America.
