The FIM is the sole large-scale franchise exhibition in Malaysia recognised by the World Franchise Council and the Asia Pacific Franchise Confederation .

Expounding that the franchise industry has a very special meaning to him as he had helmed KPDNHEP before, Ismail Sabri said the Malaysian franchise industry recorded a sales figure of RM13.3 billion in 2019 and about RM5.2 billion in 2020.
