The heavy vehicle industry in Australia is “stepping up” and doing everything they can to ensure the supply of critical goods is delivered, according to National Heavy Vehicle Regulator’s spokesman Steven Miller.

“Definitely from operators and communities, we’re hearing a lot of positive news of the help we’ve provided,” he told Sky News Australia.

“Obviously, heavy vehicle operators had to adjust to this new route; they’ve had to reschedule drivers and reschedule our heavy vehicles to operate on this route effectively.”

And once again costs are blowing out due to extremely long detours so goods can be delivered. This is after NSW having detours due to floods also. The Toowoomba Bypass still closed eastbound forcing extra costs for RT operators. Our Road network is a joke.

Australia should consider saving some of the flood water for when it turns fire season.

Thank you truckies 👍🏼
