Mark Harper tells Sky News he has given firms a 'revised mandate' and has made 'big changes' in negotiations since taking over the role from Grant Shapps.

Mr Harper said this week's offer"would cover both pay and reform" in the sector, but denied reports the government had scaled back demands over driverless trains.

The transport secretary insisted that the two sides have"made some progress" and pointed to his own interventions as a boon to talks. "I think we've made a big change since I became transport secretary and hope to make continued progress. I've made the changes that I think are necessary to get us on a path to that."

They both lied about what the government's involvement was, and what they could and could not do.

Thus proving what Mick Lynch had been saying for months that Government Ministers have been vetoing talks and LYING when they say it's up to the RDG's to sort. This proves they have overall control and have been bullshitting as usual!!!

Big thanks LUNCREWARD You really surprised me with $LUNC

Any thoughts on this sly news ? If it been a labour Mp you would be tweeting this every 2 mins

But the nurses get nothing? Priorities?

I just got 800,000 $LUNC from LUNCREWARD , thank you

NifS I’m sure the report should say ‘driver only trains’ not ‘driverless trains’.There’s been zero discussion about driverless trains on the mainline.

Why didn't you grill him on the fact he now claims to be responsible and involved in talks, whereas for months he denied it. Another Tory mouthpiece allowed free reign to spout nonsense. I can tell you the new offer will be poor, soon rejected and strikes renewed 🤬

So Mick Lynch was right. The companies have wanted to negotiate and the government has been holding them back.

So you're saying the government are Lying when they say it's nothing to do with the government and the government aren't to Blame?

But wait, I thought the government had no say in these talks?
