Former Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson on Sunday insisted that implementing a proposed law allowing on paid menstrual leaves would be counterproductive since companies might not be able to provide an additional 24 days of leave per year.

MANILA, Philippines — Former Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson on Sunday insisted that implementing a

would be counterproductive since companies might not be able to provide an additional 24 days of leave per year.“Maternity leave, paternity leave and now, menstrual leave – all with pay. Next time, a legislative measure will be filed mandating menopause and andropause allowances to increase the testosterone levels of workers.”Lacson said the economic implications of menstrual leaves may end up in layoffs and even closure of some factories.

“What the proponents of the two-day-a-month menstrual-leave-with-pay measure and the ordinary working woman in this country may not realize is the impact of an additional 24 days a year of leave with pay on top of the 105 days of maternity leave, 7 days of paternity leave, 5 days of sick leave, including the 13-18 days of vacation leave every year which could lead to layoffs or even the closing of some factories that may not have the wherewithal to cope with the burden of complying with all...

Actually no, you’re too far ahead, what I see is a disadvantage on hiring females . Let’s see first kung Mai pasa muna yung law, at makita Yung effect Meron naman kasi talaga debilitating menstrual cramps at kawawa naman yung nakakaranas nito.

This proposed law discriminates against men and, therefore unconstitutional. What of other genders, such as those who identify as females, do they get menstrual leave too? For those who identified as males, do they lose their menstrual leave because they identify as males?🤔

no vote

Approve the bill but women should not crt descrimunation when employers prefer males as their employees. Also make sure na clear yung bill..for biologically born femalea lng ba yung bill or kasama dito ung mga non binary na nagiiba iba ang gender depende sa trip..

Hehehe!

The mestruation leave may have good intentions but will discourage employers and businesses to hire women. For those with difficult menstrual cycle, they could use their sick leave benefit.

Ano yun tuwing weekends may menstrual period sila?!

There will be a big demand for transwomen employees.

Companies will simply start hiring more men, until such time that men start getting periods, of course.

True

Just increase the 5 days SIL to 2 weeks.

Ping, why don't you re-focus your energy on ways how the government can collect taxes efficiently? Like what you've done before in the BOC controversy. You'd be better rebranded that way than dipping your fingers on women's concerns...

Laki ng problema niyo sa mga KIPAY!!!!

The world is also moving into 4-days a week work, punishable to send email or call (for work related matters) during off-work hours or weekends and holidays, WFH as preference if possible Including the paid additional leaves for child birthing, menstruation, paternal task leave

So yung batas na taas sahod for all na swept under the rug na?

National Law should not be gender Biased,

Yes that's really the possible consequences, that bill is not reasonable. Employment of women would be put at risk.
