Microsoft stock gained more than 5% after the Washington State behemoth reported beats on the top and bottom line, while posted decent results but saw its share price sink more than 4%. Microsoft reported GAAP earnings per share of $2.99, 34 cents above Wall Street analyst consensus. Revenue also came in $1.95 billion above expectations at $56.5 billion.
