Supermarket giant Asda is moving into the housing market, with plans to create a new ‘town’ on the site of one of its largest stores.

It is understood Barratt London will acquire the freehold to Asda’s Park Royal site, although the price has not been confirmed. One resident said: 'The proposed development is obscene. Grossly out of keeping with the town and setting a dreadful precedent for future schemes.
