The City of Johannesburg Emergency Services says that it has activated its disaster management officials to assist with relief for people affected by the fire at a building in

Four people were killed when an abandoned three-storey industrial building – which was illegally occupied – caught fire in the early hours of the morning.Emergency Services spokesperson Robert Mulaudzi says they are investigating what sparked the blaze. “The cause of the fire is still a subject of investigations. We have got our colleagues from City Power to try and disconnect some of the illegal connections in the building- and also our officials from the city to facilitate some relief for the affected residents.
