Ahead of the Edo governorship election set for next Saturday, Governor Godwin Obaseki has announced plans to distribute one billion naira as grants to traders in the state.
Governor Obaseki made the declaration during an annual gathering in Benin, hosted by Edo market women in his honor. Obaseki also hinted that if Dr. Asue Ighodalo, the People's Democratic Party candidate for the upcoming election, is elected, he would double the grant.He further expressed appreciation for their pledge to support Ighodalo in the upcoming election.
