San Franciscans will vote on several propositions in November. Here’s what the proposition asks: In San Francisco, should an additional business tax be placed on Transportation Network Companies and autonomous vehicle businesses to fund public transportation?If passed, Prop L would impose another tax on ride-hailing transportation companies like Lyft and Uber as well as AV companies like Waymo. The money raised would support public transportation services.

"Companies like Uber and Waymo add a lot of congestion to our streets and draw resources away from public transit, including the paratransit service that delivers hundreds of thousands of trips for seniors and people with disabilities each year," said Dylan Fabris, community and policy manager with San Francisco Transit Riders.
