I'm from the East Midlands and would never live anywhere there, except perhaps Rutland.

Interesting. It seems I am confirmed as the only person in the UK who really, really hates Market Harborough! I go there when I need to but would never choose to spend time there.

I want a few fields in every town where we can live and retire while we still have a life. No work, no gov't bullshit , no tax . Just Music and self sufficiency. Be about 2 weeks before the tanks rolled in. bitterworld

Pity this is such a rarity. France has a totally different approach where affordable housing is available in every community, big or small. France invests massively in it's towns, villages, & roads. The UK hasn't done that in decades. We're miles behind, the UK is a dump tbh.
