Businesses in Texas have now become a battleground of sorts for wearing masks. There's nothing — legally — telling people that they have to wear a mask inside. Private businesses, however, are still allowed to require masks at their discretion.

Texas has been mask-free since the beginning of March, but it has created a standoff between business owners across the state trying to mitigate Covid-19 outbreaks and their customers.

Gov. Greg Abbott announced March 2 that he was lifting the mask mandate. A week later, businesses of all types were allowed to open to 100% capacity. On top of that, people who decide to not wear masks can't be punished by law, Abbott's mandate says.

Republicans want bakeries to be able to refuse serving gay couples but are against private businesses requiring masks.

Glad to see the left is now pretending to give a damn about private property rights.

This isn't supposed to happen....

For sure she supports that Colorado baker who refuses make cake for gay couples

And that’s how it should be. Let businesses decide if they want to require masks.

Most of the maskless Texan's probably can't read the sign anyway.

cryborg No mask? Foot-in-the-a$$.

I require masks inside my business. I have that right. You have the right to shop somewhere else. Nobody is taking your freedoms away. People seem to think that they have the right to do whatever they want inside my business. They do not.

Love it- until we are all vaccinated we need to continue to wear masks

Get their credit card first.😉

That is their right and that is the way it should be across the country. Let the people and businesses decide. And open the schools, Dems ! Stop licking the boots of the corrupt Teachers Unions who selfishly harmed so many of our youngsters.

Texas is a cluster F, right now.

The new coronavirus is made in the United States. The United States just doesn't recognize it, nor dare to admit it.

I'm glad we agree that businesses, not the government, can decide what's best for themselves.
