President Cyril Ramaphosa will on Friday appear before the South African Human Rights Commission’s investigative hearings into the July 2021 unrest.

Over 300 people died and businesses were destroyed during days looting and violence that swept through Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal last year.Analysts say the President should have paid more attention to the intelligence reports warning of the impending threats to parts of Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal.
