Discussions on wages will result in imminent “battles” between business, unions and government over the next 12 months, says Sky News Business Editor Ross Greenwood.

“When the argument is that the companies are increasing their profits well ahead of the inflation rate – but wages are not keeping up with the inflation pressure – that’s the argument that unions and, indeed, the Labor Party has really pushed,” he told Sky News Australia.

“That is going to be one of the real battles between business and this government and unions over the coming 12 months at least.”

Better not talk about wages then I guess.

Standard of living for workers not that important then Murdoch?

Can't report on the 'Culture war' if you don't stir up a Culture War.... Right Sky Spews,?

sky stirring up social unrest again, get back in your box

What wage battle? Supply & Demand!

Why?

No doubt there's been a real leech in wealth to the top-end of town for the past decade with the RBA needing to step-in to control the damage against the Liberal recession. Only inevitable there'd be a wage-to-profit realisation at some time, the big biz honeymoon is over.

once again Liberal Sky News!! Dividing the issues like the liberals do,using words like 'battle' Unbelievable how about being part of the solution instead of all the negativity that you guys have generated since May 21!!

New use of the word 'battles'...any economist worth their salt knows there is a constant tension between workers and employers...this is absolutely normal and leads to negotiated outcomes and moderated wage growth leading to an activated economy...you want and need this
