But among the legendary Kleiner Perkins venture capitalist's biggest regrets is not investing in Tesla Inc. back in 2007. Doerr bemoaned that miss in an interview BloombergUnder conventional thinking, the wise move was to not invest in the electric car market at all, Doerr told Bloomberg. That's because all but one of the 400 or so car companies that had been launched in the United States have gone bankrupt.
