Forbes recently released its 2022 annual list of the most valuable sports teams in the world, and several Bay Area franchises are represented in the top tier of theThe Golden State Warriors, which had a value of $4.7 billion at last year's No. 6 spot, placed No. 8 on the list this year with a value of $5.6 billion.
The San Francisco Giants, with the team's value going up from $3.18 billion to $3.5 billion this year, ended up slipping from No. 28 in 2021 all the way to No. 42 on the 2022 list. Neither the Oakland A's nor the San Jose Sharks made the cut. The San Jose Earthquakes were also left off.
