A graduate of Jacksonville University, Waters is a member of the university's board of trustees as well as a member of the Jacksonville Civic Council.

"What has been so incredibly clear to me throughout my time at The Community Foundation is that any success that we achieve is the result of the generosity of our fundholders, the tireless work of our nonprofit partners and the unwavering commitment to our mission to stimulate philanthropy to build a better community by our Staff and Trustees," she said in a note announcing her retirement plans.

The foundation board has formed a search committee and hired a search firm to find Waters replacement, board Chairman Brian Davis said. The goal is to have a new president in place by the end of August 2023.Honor those extraordinary women who are impacting the Northeast Florida community.
