Singh has started a business called Easy Platter, which connects customers with local personal chefs. - Ryan TaplinHalifax entrepreneur Mandir Singh has some breathing room as he tries to grow his business, Easy Platter, which sends chefs to prepare meals in the homes of its customers.“The pitch was we were looking for $150,000 in exchange for six per cent of the company,” Singh said Friday.

No one bit on Singh’s original ask, but Robert Herjavec, who called Easy Platter “a great friggin’ idea,” said he’d pony up the 150K in exchange for 40 per cent of the company.“They’re always looking for more drama,” Singh said. “Fortunately, we did not get a lot of drama; they wanted to know more and that was the reaction I saw from the dragons. When we explained the process to them, how it works, they started to get the idea and it worked out well in the end.”
