Large lease renewals will be crucial to the future health of downtown San Francisco.

The renewal comes after more than a year of negotiations with the building’s landlord, Jamestown LP. Sources also told the Business Times that the company may put 100,000 square feet at Levi’s Plaza up for sublease, though neither Levi’s nor Jamestown would confirm that.

This comes amid other good news for San Francisco apparel companies. Gap, which was founded in San Francisco in 1969, it will open a new store near Union Square, though it’s unclear which of the company’s brands will reside in the building at 152 Geary St.
