This is where Kroger and Albertsons will flesh out, and defend, their arguments in favor of a merger that could directly impact tens of millions of Americans.

It's a high wire act for the CEOs, who must persuasively parrot their antitrust attorneys' talking points without stumbling. And they're unlikely to get much breathing room from either political party, as food security is a bipartisan issue.More details on some of the top-line promises made in the original merger announcement, particularly around store closures and jobs.

Grocerying As a person who spent most of 50 years in the grocery industry this merger makes zero sense for consumers, zero sense for suppliers, zero sense for real estate, zero sense for operational efficiency, zero sense for workers. It only makes sense for capital managers.

Why didn’t they do the same for Twitter purchase ?

FTC NO MORE MONOPOLIES Honor Antitrust laws!!!!

NO! We don't need fewer grocery store owners w/just a bunch of different names, giving the illusion of competitioin. EndMonopolies

Kroger, Albertsons Expected to Defend Grocery Merger at Senate HearingThe CEOs of Kroger and Albertsons will likely face questions on how their companies' proposed merger would affect competition and shoppers during a Senate hearing Is it crazy to think that these 2 kinda need this merger? They lose ground all the time to places like WalMart, Aldi and others. Your reminder that post merger the company will have less than 14% of the national grocery market. Proud as punch that her country is bombing innocent children..KARMA
