The team behind the Bay Area's second Georgian spot is bringing San Francisco its first.

But Cheeseboat will be the first brick-and-mortar with a 100% Georgian menu, Dzotsenidze said,"the exact way we eat."

In acknowledgment of the San Francisco crowd, the menu at Cheeseboat will feature vegan options including potato and mushroom dumplings, bean stew and eggplant dishes. Also on the menu: traditional Georgian favorites khinkali and in theDzotsenidze said he was drawn to the"energy" of San Francisco and in particular bustling North Beach, where he said he saw plentiful restaurant opportunities for sale or lease.

The roughly 3,000-square-foot Tamari restaurant opened in February 2020 at 1152 San Carlos Avenue. In North Beach the restaurant will take over the just-under 2,000-square-foot space formerly taken by Sancha Sushi.
