A list of solutions, strategies and a timeline are what the Durban Chamber of Commerce & Industry' is hoping will come out of the State of the Nation Address.President Cyril Ramaphosa is scheduled to deliver the address at 7pm on Thursday.

The chamber's Prasheen Maharaj says they want to hear about plans to rebuild the economy and stop load shedding. For example blackouts because of Eskom unit breakdowns are resulting in a number of operational challenges across sectors nationally."Maharaj says the water and sanitation crisis, exacerbated by last year's floods, is ruining Durban's image.

"It has the potential to affect the tourism sector and its entire value chain negatively. The pace of infrastructure restoration and service recovery is slow and causing immeasurable damage to the ecosystem and particularly the tourism sector."
