The calls for help from employees come after Alphabet stock dropped sharply last week following Microsoft’s announcement about how it's integrating ChatGPT into its Bing search engine.

Google LLC sent out the tech equivalent of an"all hands on deck" alarm to its employees on Wednesday in response to a threat posed to its search dominance — the new capabilities of Microsoft Corp.'s Bing.Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google and parent corporation Alphabet Inc., sent an email to all employees that asked them to spend two to four hours trying out Bard, the company's artificial intelligence search tool.

The calls for help from employees come after Alphabet stock dropped sharply last week following Microsoft’s announcement about how it is integrating ChatGPT into its Bing search engine. A Google demonstration of how it is integrating AI into search and other products the next day was widely panned. "Some of our most successful products were not first to market," Pichai wrote, according to CNBC."They gained momentum because they solved important user needs and were built on deep technical insights."
