Yes, DEI positions have reportedly been among the hardest hit. It’s just another sign of how useless such positions always were. With a stagnant Biden economy and rising interest rates hitting corporations’ finances, companies have reevaluated their commitment to left-wing indoctrination. Since July 2022, company layoffs of those with DEI jobs have been much higher compared to those in non-DEI roles, according to data from Revelio Labs.
“All the virtue signaling in the world cannot forestall the economic realities of a slowing economy,” said Andrew Crapuchettes, CEO of RedBalloon. “In a time when bloated Big Tech companies must make budget decisions, it’s no surprise that divisive and polarizing DEI programs are under scrutiny.” According to a press release from RedBalloon, companies in the country spent over $9 billion on DEI initiatives last year. Much of this resulted from the societal overreaction following the murder of George Floyd in the summer of 2020. Left-wing executives throughout the nation used this chaos to implement radical agenda-driven corporate programs to reshape the culture and indoctrinate employees. Even more absurd, this total was expected to increase to $15.
“Amazon, Twitter, and Nike have shed between 5 and 16 DEI professionals each, and Twitter’s infamous diversity team layoffs are not far behind,” according to Revelio Labs. “Bearing in mind the typically small size of DEI teams — the median DEI team size in this set of companies is 3 — these outflows likely amount to the exodus of entire diversity teams.”None of this should be shocking, as no DEI position is ever needed for a company to function.
Hopefully, this is a sign that corporate America has come to its senses and will stop caving to the Left’s cultural hijacking. DEI is toxic and useless and should stay in the ash heap of history where it belongs, along with so many other left-wing disasters.
