Do the job you are doing now in the best way you possibly can and that will create future opportunities for you. Don’t go hunting promotions or worrying about the next goal. Just be really good in the job you are in and the rest will take care of itself.
For me, particularly in senior people, their comfort with being accountable is the most important thing for me.
