GARRIOCH: Exploring market for Alex DeBrincat and a goalie are priorities for Ottawa Senators

There’s talk DeBrincat wants to see the ownership situation settled, but that sounds like an excuse. The two-time 40-goal scorer has shown no inclination of signing an extension here since being dealt to the Senators and the reality is there’s not much chance that’s going to change.

The Carolina Hurricanes made a quick four-game exit in the Eastern Conference against the Florida Panthers because the club had a difficult time scoring all season and the problem reared its ugly head again when it mattered the most. There’s speculation that maybe Dorion can use DeBrincat to address the club’s need for a goaltender.
