In her parting speech to Parliament, Kelly O'Dwyer cautioned against the 'deterioration of trust in both this institution and indeed, the very concept of democracy' and cautioned that social media and technology were confusing political debate.

Also the current leadership calling credible sources fake news doesn't exactly help either

SM is actually calling out there horseshit lies, paladin, beetrorter, visa corruption, reefgate, watertheft all started through SM.

I think that the only confusion about 'debating' is that which occurs in parliament. It has degraded into a circus of clowns who have no idea of their proper responsibilities and resort to petty accusations, namecalling and pathetic humour. Oratory is dead.

KellyODwyer Not sure technology or social media are to blame. They are just tools. What is 'confusing' it are an increasingly poor and conflicted political class and associated hangers on. Tech etc just makes it easier to spot.
