The effects of the war between Israel and Hamas stretch beyond the Middle East.

The war is a topic of conversation among employees nationwide - something Human Resources manager Janie Lopez has experienced.

“The mood you know is of concern,” Lopez said. “People again are more aware of their surroundings, keeping an eye out for each other.” As some companies take a stance on the war, the Senior Associate Dean for Leadership Studies at the Yale School of Management isAs of Tuesday, the“There’s a problem across the industry in terms of just being able to get good talented people and retain them. So, again, you have to take that into consideration that if you are to take a stand - that stand may potentially make it so that some employees may leave," University of the Incarnate Word Business Professor Dr. David Vequist said.

“Many of these companies have a very diverse population of people that they are serving, so therefore, they have to be very careful when they rock the boat because it can affect overall sales,” Vequist said. We’ve already seen operations affected by the war between Israel and Hamas – from impacts to advertising spending to changes in flight schedules.
