Megabus driver Eugene Naughton lost a leg in the double-decker bus crash on Aug. 9, 2022, in Woodbridge, according to the lawsuit.

, has filed a lawsuit accusing the company of failing to make needed repairs and perform routine maintenance on the vehicle.

The suit alleges the companies were responsible for the bus and knew before Aug. 9, 2022, that the bus “required maintenance, inspection and/or repairs.” Naughton’s injuries were so severe that his right leg had to be amputated, and he has been forced to “incur ruinous expenses,” suffers from physical and mental pain, has been hospitalized and has undergone several surgeries, according to the suit.

Kiyanitza’s lawsuit alleges that Naughton had been involved in six accidents from 1990 to 2015 and had received several moving violations since 1987 that included speeding and improper turning.
