by Abigail VelezA Hays CISD bus carrying 44 pre-K students and 11 adults from Tom Green Elementary School crashed with a concrete truck on State Highway 21 in Bastrop County, resulting in at least two fatalities and multiple injuries.A sixth lawsuit was filed Wednesday afternoon against FJM Concrete, Jerry Hernandez, and Frank Martinez.
Jerry Hernandez was driving the cement pump truck when it hit the school bus. The truck is owned by FJM Concrete, and the CEO of the company is Frank Martinez. "If an individual plaintiff foresees that the defendant might go bankrupt or might not have funds, that creates a special incentive to try to settle, but the idea of settling quick and cheap doesn't seem very meaningful."
