The Chairman of the Association of Licenced Telecom Operators of Nigeria , Gbenga Adebayo, highlights a number of issues facing telecoms operators in the country. From cost of energy to vandalisation of infrastructure, Adebayo believes these challenges are enough reasons to justify mobile operators’ recent clamour for tariff increase.

This infrastructure has become so critical to our national economy, and what we advocating to the government is to classify telecommunications as critical national infrastructure and provide the same level of protection you provide for any security infrastructure.
