A person of interest, someone who used to work at the business, was taken into custody.

A man was shot and killed at his workplace in the City of Industry and investigators are questioning a former employee as a person of interest. Sheriff's deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department descended on a large commercial complex Monday morning in the 18600 block of Gale Avenue after receiving calls of a shooting in progress at a logistics shipping company. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

He suffered apparent gunshot wounds to his upper torso, authorities said. His identity was not immediately available. "We know that the person of interest is a former employee of the business and the victim is a current employee of the business, said Lt. Mike Modica. The entire building was evacuated. No one else was injured. A motive for the shooting is unknown.
