, Topgolf Callaway Brands may spin off Topgolf just a couple years after purchasing the company. CEO Oliver Brewer spoke to analysts last week and said Callaway Golf Inc. is conducting a "full strategic review" of Topgolf, with the goal being to improve sales or consider other options, such as a "potential spinoff," per the outlet.
According to RBO, Topgolf was an admired brand for its performance going into, and coming out of, the pandemic. Callaway Golf Inc. purchased Topgolf in 2020 and later changed its name to Topgolf Callaway Brands in 2022. “Price is the biggest concern of our customers. We hear it from our peers, see it in credit card data, and observe it firsthand in our venue business, including feedback from our large corporate clients,” Brewer said, per RBO.
