Shay Walker admitted being the man who fatally shot Peter Hale but was cleared of murder and manslaughter

A drug dealer was spared prison but then fatally shot a man in the head mere months later. Shay Walker was acquitted of murdering of Peter Hale - who died aged 50 on February 4 this year, four days after suffering a single gunshot wound inside his own home on Haslingden Close in Old Swan - following a trial at Liverpool Crown Court.

According to what Anthony Hale told the police, when Shay Walker arrived he was asking for his money and whether the brothers had some of his drugs. Anthony said that they did not have his money because they had spent it, and they had smoked his drugs. 'In response, Shay Walker said 'I have brought this for yous' and he pulled out what Anthony described as a black handgun.
