Though, ignoring the warnings against smoking, the tourist lit up a cigarette and was confronted by one of the stall owners, to which he then allegedly threw the cigarette at the stall owner.
This led to the stall owners filling up buckets of water and throwing it at the tourist, dousing him.Many have since pointed out that the tourist, as a visitor, should have followed the rules and not mess with the locals, as Thai people are not afraid to put people in their place.
