Five local food vendors will set up shop daily when the market opens beside St Anne's Cathedral

An innovative food truck market is set to breathe new life into Writer's Square in Belfast's Cathedral Quarter.

Speaking at a soft launch of the Writer's Square Food Court, which is set to open in the next few weeks, CEO of the NI Food to Go Association Michael Henderson told Belfast Live of his excitement to bring something new to the area. Michael added: "There is nothing like this on this side of the city - this will give a bit of life to the food scene and and integrate with the University of Ulster also to give their students a bit more of a variety for their lunches."

"We are massively delighted at the initiative here with the Department for Communities. The food stalls here will bring much needed animation onto the site and eyes on the street and that discourages antisocial behaviour. "We consider anything to fully animate the place and hand it back over to the people who visit and work in Cathedral Quarter."
