The Indigenous leader said he had suggested January 1, the day of Federation, as the new Australia Day, but decided it was “very un-Australian” as it would mean Aussies would forfeit a public holiday.“Stop banning people and stop banning events.” Some of the business impacted include Bungalow 8, Cargo and North Byron Hotel in NSW, the Esplanade Hotel, Prince of Wales and Duke of Wellington in Victoria and Port Office Hotel, The Lord Alfred and Waterloo Hotel in Queensland.
