An analysis by MyBroadband has shown that renting a home with a 1Gbps fibre connection and connecting to an office wirelessly is more cost-effective than subscribing to a business-specific fibre connection in an office park. After a price inquiry, the initial attractive offer of R2,319 per month for a 1Gbps fibre connection changed drastically to R9,000 per month for a fibre-to-the-business (FTTB) service due to the location in an office park.
In contrast, a fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) connection costs R1,249 per month with a one-time setup fee of R750. The FTTH service offers better customer support, faster service times, and comparable features to the business-specific connection, making it a more economical choice
