Emergency services have rushed to a Christmas market fairground following reports of a ride "collapsing". Police have cordoned off the area around the ride, which is believed to be the City Flyer, a 55-metre-high attraction in in Centenary Square, Birmingham.
Images shared online show tangled seats on the City Flyer, while paramedics, police, and firefighters have been pictured responding to the incident. A police spokesman said: "We currently have officers in Centenary Square, #Birmingham following reports of an issue with one of the rides. Centenary Square remains cordoned off this evening while we support our emergency service colleagues. Please avoid the area."
