The market at Herald Square in Midtown Manhattan, right by Macy’s flagship location, caught ablaze around 4am on Monday, according to the New York City Fire Department. A total of 18 shops were obliterated.
‘This must-see destination in the heart of New York City during holiday season features a multitude of vendors from New York and beyond,’ it states. The holiday market had just opened on December 6 The cause of the fire was still under investigation as of Monday night. Urbanspace, which operates the market, stated vowed ‘unwavering’ support to the small business vendors.
