Councillors discussed the idea of developing Rhayader and Cwmdauddwr Ltd which would be aligned to the town council but independent.

They talked about the business body possibly being in the form of a charity, trust or community interest company and that it could become a vehicle for running or managing town projects. Town clerk Julie Stephen said; “It is very early days but the council agreed that I should contact Powys Association of Voluntary Organisations and try to set up a meeting for late January or early February to explore the options and understand how the council may take the idea forward.”Enquiries will be made about the potential for setting up a business body in Rhayader aligned to the town council.
