In line with our theme on alternative asset classes, this week’s podcast by Maya Fisher-French and Mapalo Makhu discuss investing in gold.

Is gold a good investment? What role should it play in your portfolio and how do you go about investing in gold – because there are many different ways to gain exposure to this precious metal.

The podcast has three parts – from traditional gold investments to new-age ones. We discuss investing in gold coins with Glenn Schoeman of the SA Association Numismatic Dealers, investing in gold through the stock market with Craig Pheiffer of Absa Stockbrokers and finally gaining exposure to the precious metal through tokenised gold with Sean Sanders of Revix.
