Walmart says it will no longer lock up Black beauty products in display cabinets after being accused of racial discrimination

Walmart customer Lauren Epps, who was recently shopping for a scarf for her hair at Walmart, told CBS that she found that all the multicultural hair care products were locked in glass cabinets when she visited a store in Denver. She described it as "ridiculous."

"I'm not going to be shamed into thinking I'm a criminal for just wanting to get a scarf. This is very blatant because the heading above that aisle says 'Multicultural Hair Care.' They are saying that people, who are a different culture, need their stuff to be locked up," she told CBS.that it "had made the decision to discontinue placing multicultural hair care and beauty products in locked cases.

News of Walmart's decision to reverse this policy comes after the death of George Floyd and global protests that have forced many companies to speak out against racial discrimination and reevaluate some of their own policies.
