Mobile data from analytics companies this week suggested that "Hamilton" was a major hit for Disney Plus.
It was Disney Plus' biggest weekend for sign-ups this year, far exceeding the biggest weekends for its competitors like Netflix.The "Hamilton" movie was a smash hit for Disney Plus, and new data suggest that it was an even bigger blockbuster than many in the industry originally thought. The boost that Antenna observed is well beyond earlier reports that looked at mobile app download data to estimate the impact of "Hamilton" on Disney Plus sign-ups.
"At Antenna, we track data at the purchase and transaction level, so we're seeing behavior across all of the key digital distributors," Tase said.
I thought hamilton was overrated, sadly. Glad I watched it though. Saves me having to pay the price of a Theatre ticket.
