The Competition Bureau says Rogers Communications Inc. and Shaw Communications Inc. have agreed to a preliminary injunction.

The Canadian PressRogers is trying to buy Shaw in a $26-billion merger that would make Canada's telecom sector even more top-heavy.

The rural expansions that Rogers is doing with tax money only results in them getting free revenue. Many tax payers gets nothing in return. Rural communities get the privilege of paying for overpriced cable/internet.

We need fewer oligopolies not more. Capitalism is supposed to be about competition but large corporations are trying to eliminate competition.

These telecommunication companies have too much leeway and do as they please! The government should have regulated them and billing and other practices because they are a threat to citizens and government alike.

It should be permanently blocked and all media conglomerates broken up. No one person, group or organization should have control over the majority of our media.
