But North Yorkshire County Council climate change officer Jos Holmes said the “extremely challenging” targets had “no political or community consensus behind them” and so weren’t included in the LEP’s plan.

He said the route map was not ambitious enough and that meat reduction targets had to be included to make it meaningful.He added: “Agricultural meat production is a huge contributor to climate change. There has to be a vision and commitment to moving towards a plant-based diet.

What a surprise a retired farmer is saying this, I wonder what sort of grants/payments he took to retire? Saying this about North Yorkshire is like saying the North Sea is wet; there’s not much else going on there.
