The province has ordered a P.E.I. agricultural company to pay back over $3,000 in unpaid wages to a migrant worker following a Canadian Border Services Agency investigation.

belonging to Island Gold Honey Inc. and multiple other P.E.I. businesses, as well as a property in Brampton, Ont., on June 21.

According to recently released warrant documents, searches were conducted on the properties of Canadian Nectar Products, Fruits Canada, Aton Gateway Business Solutions, Island Gold Honey Inc., Atlantic Canada Nurseries. A search was also conducted on the property of CWC Immigration Solutions Inc. In Brampton.

The documents said the complainants were told they would instead be working at Canadian Nectar Products Inc., also located near Montague, however, that work was not authorized by their work permits. Other allegations from the complainants included being forced to sign resignation letters and other non-translated documents without explanation, being forced to repay airfare after being told it would be covered and being told to"hide the truth" if the workers were ever questioned by authorities.
