At least 10 percent is better than zero.

The CMA claims that Microsoft Xbox Cloud Gaming held between 60 and 70 percent of the cloud gaming market by 2022, but that should be taken with a grain of salt. There are a ton of asterisks around that number, which the CMA spends two full pages addressing. For example, Microsoft and Sony’s game streaming services are available as part of larger packages, such as Game Pass Ultimate and PlayStation Plus Premium.

The survey may not accurately reflect actual market share, as some companies bundle their cloud gaming services with other products The regulator additionally says it likely overestimated Sony’s market share in 2021 and 2022 by double-counting some people who had used its game streaming and were subscribed to both PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now. It’s also difficult to accurately compare the figures, as the data was collected at different times — Xbox Cloud Gaming figures being taken between January and September of 2022 while GeForce Now only provides data for January, for example.

Nevertheless, it’s clear that Microsoft, Sony, and Nvidia dominate the market for cloud gaming services, with Google taking home the scraps.

It's buying the games again that put me off and not sharing progress with other platforms, nvidia geforce now allows you to sign into steam with your entire purchased games catalogue.

Cloud gaming will only take off once the rest of the world has access to decent internet. The unfortunate thing is here in the US while areas that already have high-speed internet get higher-speed internet the areas that don’t, don't see any type of improvement in connectivity.…

Rent the software to companies like Steam and make it compatible. Cloud gaming with your bought Steam games or Epic games would be awesome for both parties.

Honestly it sort of seemed like Google thought they could do the bare minimum and people would just flock to their service simply because they're Google. It's easy to see why they couldn't match Microsoft's efforts.

Now it looks more like the whole project was a scam for investors.

Stadia is just another one added to Google’s graveyard of shame 😆

There were many things wrong with Stadia. The monetization model was the worst, they were too early to announce it and it came out lacking most features they promised, lack and cancelling their games…

Google is always too early for certain types of tech. They did it with Glass, they did it with Stadia, they did it with Nexus, etc. The ideas are cool but they are always a decade earlier than they need to be. It misses the train.

The idea was flawed to begin with, they should have opted for a more IaaS model like Shadow. Physical consoles are still the best option for effective high end AAA gaming.

But I got a FREE sweet bluetooth controller out of it.

Sus af.

Having to pay full retail for each game you streamed was an off-putting business model.

Just like what happened with Google+ was in the wrong time! Stadia will be remembered when it will be time for cloud gaming!

Don't remind us....I actually supported Stadia

Lest we forget the pioneers tho
